Did you know that you can come in and just get a lineup of sushi just like this? Take a seat at our sushi bar and interact with our sushi chefs The more they know about what you like, the more they'll be able to create a custom lineup with your preferences. Otherwise, you can just tell them how many pieces of sushi you'd like and they'll take care of the rest. It's another way we do "omakase." or Chef's Choice. Makes the decision process so much easier for everyone.
It's official! We've added another unique sushi roll to our already extensive list of sushi rolls. Our Superman Roll has been floating around amongst our regulars for some time now so we've decided to make it a regular part of our menu. First of all, it features no rice, a very common request from our patrons. It's tuna, salmon, and imitation crab in the center and wrapped with a soy paper and then dressed with fried garlic, green onions, ponzu sauce, and our eel sauce. If you can't tell, this sushi roll is extremely tasty.
We have quite an extensive menu and an item that has been humbly on there forever is our Agedashi Tofu. It's a very simple Japanese dish consisting of lightly battered and fried tofu cubes in a dashi sauce. A little green onion on top and that's about it. Very simple yet tasty. It's a great appetizer to get in between all that sushi you're eating while at Sushi World. Next time you swing by, be sure to look at our whole menu to see if there might be something else you enjoy. If not, always stick to your favorites. And also always check our Specials Board.
A favorite roll from many of our regulars is our Baked Blue Crab Rolls. We make the baked blue crab with garlic aioli fresh in house so you know it's gotta be good! It's accompanied by a little bit of rice and then wrapped in a sesame soy paper. You can always ask for it wrapped in seaweed but we believe it tastes better wrapped in the soy paper. You can also get it as a hand roll if you want it all for yourself. And, there's no raw fish so it's definitely sushi-virgin friendly. We love virgins.
Summer is here in the OC. If you're like most carb-conscious people in Orange County, you're looking to cut down on the carbs so that you can have that beach/pool party body. Our Jalapeno Yellowtail is precisely what you're looking for. It's essentially carb-free and is flavorful as heck. It's light, tasty, and the women love it. If she doesn't like it, then maybe your mom was right and she's not the one. Besides, once you lose those extra pounds, you'll surely find something better.
If you love salmon, you're going to really love Sushi World's Atlantic Dragon Roll. It's center consists of salmon and it's topped with a peppered salmon. Salmon overload? We think not. The center also has the traditional sushi center of avocado and cucumber and then the whole roll is also topped with shredded red onions and a slice of serrano pepper on each piece of sushi. And then, it's lightly dressed with a ponzu sauce. So simple, yet oh so deliciously filling and appetizing.
Currently on the Sushi World Specials Board: Truffle Escolar. Yes, it's a very unimaginative name but it does the job. Features sashimi slices of buttery Escolar dressed in Truffle Oil and garnished with orange slices. Looks fresh and inviting and tastes even better than it looks. We know it's summertime so y'all are looking for that summer bod. Well, this no carb dish should definitely be an option for you as it's packed with flavor and none of the guilt.
It's the summer! Our Hawaiian Tuna Poke is a perfect, healthy serving of yumminess consisting of tuna, albacore, avocado, gobo, marinated seaweed, and an awesome poke dressing. Great to share or to eat all by your selfish self. No need to dip it anything. It is ready to go as is. It'a great starter, a middle appetizer, or even as a dessert. Your choice! Whatever you do decide, it's not a bad decision! Hope everyone has a wonderful, beautiful week ahead of them!
If you haven't tried our Salmon Carpaccio yet, you're missing out. Not only is it low carbs to help you keep your figure, it's delicious! Perfectly sliced salmon sashimi, topped with red onions, green onions, sesame seeds, and then dressed with a house combination of oils and sauces. It's become a favorite amongst our regulars. They tend to like dishes like this and our Jalapeno Yellowtail. They're simple dishes that are great to share or eat all up by yourself! Don't worry. We won't judge you.
What kind of sushi eater are you? If we give you a lineup of sushi with Uni in it, would you eat the Uni first or last? Do you enjoy leaving the richest piece of sushi for last or do you like to eat it first? Typically, we would save it for last since the Uni can be overpowering and thus, effect the flavor of the rest of the sushi in the lineup. But of course, it depends on your palette and tastebuds. If you take your time between each sushi piece and drink some sake and eat some ginger, you can eat sushi in whatever order you like.
You want some sushi with your chicken teriyaki? No problem! Our Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box has the option of coming with either a basic sushi roll, 4 sushi pieces, or even pieces of sashimi! It's your choice. Pictured is our bento box option with 4 pieces of sushi: tuna, salmon, albacore, and shrimp. Chicken Teriyaki Bento Boxes also come with 2 pieces of Shrimp Tempura, 3 pieces of Vegetable Tempura, Miso Soup & Bowl of Rice. Now that's a lunch that will fill you up and pretty much put you in a food coma for the rest of the day.
Of course we have Oyster Shooters! We take a freshly shucked oyster, throw it in a shot glass with ponzu, masago, sake, green onions, and a few other secret ingredients. What's not to love about it? The hard part is finishing it all with big gulp. You really have to brace yourself before taking the whole shot, which we highly encourage you to do so that you can fully appreciate all the different flavors meshing with one another. It's also best to take it at our sushi bar.
Currently on the Sushi World Specials Board: Live Uni! Yes, this is a rarity for us so if you love Uni like we do, you better come in soon to experience this for yourself. Our sushi chefs will prepare them any way you like, as sushi, sashimi, or you can even eat it straight out of the shell. If the response is great, we'll be sure to try our best to get live sea urchin more frequently. It's all a matter of you, our customers. If you love this type of sushi, please swing on by and show your support for more of these types of items on our menu.
You should always check the Specials Board at Sushi World, especially if you're looking for something new. If you enjoy Tempura Shrimp and Tempura Veggies, you should really try out our Snow Crab Tempura. It's pretty much exactly how it sounds. 10 pieces of Snow Crab leg meat battered and fried in tempura. If an item on our Specials Board is popular enough, we tend to add it to our regular menu. So it's up to you. Let us know when one of our Specials Board item really hits the spot for you.

And in case you can't come by over the weekend, swing on by for Happy Hour which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Being a sushi restaurant, not all of our fish or food is served raw. We also have a full kitchen behind our sushi bar ready to serve up a number of various items for patrons looking for something other than sushi, like Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail Collar), Salmon Colllar, Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, and the pictured, Miso Marinated Black Cod. They can come a la carte (with rice), or as a combo with Miso Soup, Rice, House Salad, and 5 pieces of Mixed Tempura. It's a great option, especially when you come with a big group where someone is not yet comfortable with sushi.
It took us a while to figure out what to do for Mother's Day since it's so hard to please mom. But we thought about it and all moms don't like it when you spend too much on her so we decided that for Mother's Day, we will have Happy Hour all day. That way, Mom won't feel so bad about you spending on her. You get to take advantage of our $2.99 sushi (for 2 pieces!), $3.99 appetizers, $12 Sapporo pitchers, and $4-$4.5 various rolls and other items. Make your momma happy. Swing on by and have a great time with her at Sushi World.
May 10th is always Mexican Mother's Day and we just wanted to make a quick shout out to all the hard working Mexican mothers out there. We love you and admire everything that you do everyday to make the familia run 24/7. The only item on our menu that is remotely related would be our Three Amigos Roll, which breaks down to your mom, mamá, y madre! Those truly are your three amigos for life! (the actual three amigos in our roll are spicy scallops, tuna, and albacore)
We, at Sushi World, enjoy putting our little twist on everything, even on this nerdy little holiday. May the 4th Be With You should really be May the 4th Piece of Sushi Be With You. That's because we'll eat the first 3 pieces of sushi. You can have the 4th. Hehe. So swing on by or order a party platter like the one pictured. You figure out who gets how many. :-)
Our sushi chefs are always coming up with new items so it's imperative that you always check our specials board for what they might create this week. Our Sushi Burrito is our latest attempt to try something new. It features an assortment of fish (tuna, salmon, albacore), avocado, masago, red onions, and snow crab mix all wrapped up in a soy paper. Yep. No rice is involved and it's quite tasty and easy to eat. Just pick it up and put it in your mouth. You can dip it if you'd like but trust us when we say there's enough flavor in this burrito that you don't need to dip it.
If you partook in last week's Sushi & Sake Tasting, you would have noticed our newest addition to our sake menu, Kubota Suiju Daiginjo Nama. Yeah, that's a mouth full. If you like unpasteurized sakes (nama), then you should really try this sake out. It's rare to have a Daiginjo as a Nama. This one is clear with an elegant, fruity aroma Like all unpasteurized sakes, it is served chilled. A bottle of this will regularly be $125. But for the rest of April 2018, we will offer it at only $75. We want you to really see how great this tastes with our sushi.
During our Happy Hour, you can get 2 pieces of Fried Aji for $3.99. Fried Aji is a Japanese Mackerel, breaded and fried to perfection. We serve it with a side of ponzu sauce if you'd like to dip it. This items along with 7 other appetizers are all on our Happy Hour menu for $3.99 which is all day on Mondays & Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm.

Just joking people. All sushi matters. But we really do love these in particular. They just happen to be white. It's not our fault. They just happen to be exceptionally delicious. From left to right, they are Red Snapper, Yellowtail Belly, Albacore Belly, and Jumbo Scallop. We are working on the details of our annual sake tasting right now as we hope to have some sake companies come out to represent themselves. Tentatively, it will be on Wednesday, April 18th. Stay tuned as we reveal more details! And remember, white sushi matters!
Sushi World is proud to announce our newest family member: Orion Japanese beer on tap! Yay! So in addition to our Sapporo, we now have Orion, which most definitely has a different taste, more like European beers. Swing on by soon and get a draft or two and you'll see what we mean. When the tap was installed, they also put on a feature that produces very foamy head so feel free to request more head, if that's your preference.
We, at Sushi World, are always trying new things, especially when it comes to improving on some old, traditional favorites. Normally, Tako Wasa is made with raw octopus but we have recently switched it to cooked octopus. This makes a huge difference as raw octopus is very bland and slimy and most importantly, hard to pick up with some chopsticks. So the pictured is the new version, with cooked octopus, pickled wasabi, and wasabi oil. It's a great starter, especially with some beer and/or sake. Of course, the traditional Tako Wasa is still available upon request.
