Hamachi (Yellowtail) Ribs are not always available so you'll have to ask our chefs if they're in stock. And trust us. They're worth asking about, especially if you haven't tried them. Our chefs carefully carve out the ribs, sear them, and then lightly dress them with a little spice and a little sweetness. You can just pick up each rib and then suck the meat off the bone. It's definitely a different take on "ribs." Normally, this is a wasted portion of the fish but the Japanese are known for not wasting any part of the fish.
They are all on the Happy Hour menu! Along with Peppered Salmon, Natto, Shrimp, Masago, and Escolar, you can get 2 pieces of sushi for only $2.50. HH is available all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm, when all the other sushi joints are taking a nap. Also available on the Happy Hour menu is $3.50 appetizers (over 10 to choose from!), $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. But that's not all that's on our HH menu. There are plenty of other items you'll have to come on in and try out.
We're not sure how long we'll have it, but currently on our Specials Board is Fried Baby Crabs. Yep, they're tiny and they're delicious. Just pop them in your mouth and eat them all up. It's just like eating fries, but way better. Always, always check our specials board when you come in for a visit. We love mixing things up and adding different things to the menu so there's always something new for you to try. Amaebi is still on the specials board so if you still haven't tried live sweet shrimp, you're definitely missing out.
Sushi World proudly invites you to our Sushi & Sake Tasting event where our chefs and our team will present you with 6 exquisitely prepared sushi paired with 6 premium sakes. Each pairing is purposely designed so that the sake compliments the sushi by enhancing its flavor & taste.
The price will be $30 per person for the tasting but our full menu will still be available to those who choose to order more food.
One of our most favorite sushi to eat is always yellowtail, especially when you can see the little blood line along the cut. It's conveniently featured during our Happy Hour, along with albacore, salmon, peppered salmon, natto, shrimp, and escolar. $2.50 for 2 pieces. And appetizers, like the pictured Bake Mussels and Spicy Garlic Edamame, go for only $3.50 an order. There are over 10 different appetizers to choose from for only $3.50. And then, of course, we want you to wash it all down with $2.50 sake and/or $10 Sapporo pitchers.
A very common item on our specials board is our Hotategai, better known as Jumbo Scallops. If you do come in and see it on there, be sure to order at least one serving. It's definitely a different texture and taste from regular fish sushi. If you are familiar with cooked Scallops, raw Hotategai has the same texture except that it might be a bit softer. And its flavor is very refreshing and feels more meaty than your typical raw fish sushi.
If you have yet to try our Peppered Salmon, you're truly missing out. And lucky for you, it's only $2.50 for 2 pieces during Happy Hour, which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm. Along with the Peppered Salmon, we also have escolar, albacore, masago, natto, salmon, and shrimp included in the Happy Hour menu, along with $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. There's plenty of deliciousness to fill you up so no need to worry about that.
We enjoyed making this Uni Pasta so much for Valentine's Day that we decided to officially add it to the menu! Don't let this picture fool you. It's actually a very hefty serving that's as rich and flavorful as it looks. As long as there's a demand for it, we'll continue making it. So come on in and have a serving to see what you think. If you love uni, and we know that you do, you'll love this dish completely. It's definitely an entree so order some appetizers and sushi first. Otherwise, you might not have any more room for it. See y'all soon!
A very common item on our specials board is our Smoked Salmon Collar. The meat around the collar of the salmon is especially buttery and delicious already. And searing the salmon collars were good but smoking them adds a whole other level of flavor and texture that is absolutely out of this world. The other nice thing about this item is that anyone, even non-sushi lovers, can enjoy this. It is fully cooked and comes with rice, salad, and some ponzu sauce. We always do the smoking ourselves so you know it's fresh. Try it out on your next visit. You won't regret it.
It really is the best deal in Orange County because we have a little bit of everything on our Happy Hour menu. You can get appetizers for $3.50, like the pictured (in the background) Baked Mussels. Choose from over 10 different apps. You can also get sushi for a mere $2.50 for 2 pieces, and you have a variety to choose from, like the popular pictured Peppered Salmon. And then you can get liquored up with a small sake for $2.50 or get a whole pitcher of Sapporo for only $10. Our Happy Hour is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm.
We are nothing without our awesome sushi chefs. Day in and day out, they take care of all of our customers with the utmost, professional care and love for all the food that we serve. During the day between lunch and dinner, you can usually find them prepping away, as you can see from this picture. Coincidentally, if you come during this time, we also have Happy Hour every day from 2pm till 5pm.

We couldn't resist posting this picture of one of our amazing sushi chefs behind this wall of sakes. Makes it feel like they're behind a wall of sakes. Well, it's mid-week and we're not sure about everyone else but we are definitely in the mood for a drink. We're also thinking about doing another sake tasting soon so be on the lookout for that. This time, we're thinking about doing a sushi and sake combo. Let us know if anyone has any particular requests for a sake tasting.
Sushi World wants to help the OC Invaders get to Cooperstown, New York, next year! And you can help, too! Swing on by and visit us on Thursday, September 29th from 6pm to 9pm, and we'll donate 15% of your total bill to the OC Invaders. We love helping the community and if we can help anyone, we will! Wednesday and Thursday nights are available every week so please feel free to inquire. So far, the tatami room has been reserved but we have a few more seats available, especially by the sushi bar. If you'd like to help the OC Invaders, please stop on by.
It's going to be a pretty awesome debate tonight and we can't wait to watch it at Sushi World. This is how we would watch it, with rows of sake and delicious sushi. Anytime either candidate says something we like, we eat a piece of sushi. If either one of them says something we don't like, we take a shot of sake. And it's really nice today because It's also Happy Hour all day on Mondays (and Tuesdays) when sushi is only $2.50, appetizers are only $3.50, sake is only $2.50, and Sapporo pitchers are only $10. Load up on sushi and sake and watch the debate. Sounds like a perfect Monday.
Sometimes, you need something nice and chocolatey after eating all that sushi and drinking all that sake. Luckily for you, we have a number chocolate desserts on hand and ready for you after any meal with us. The pictured Chocolate Pyramid features a hard, chocolate exterior with a smooth and creamy chocolate filling. Comes lightly dusted with powdered sugar, a sliced strawberry, and whipped cream. Other chocolate desserts include Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate Fudge Cake, and Chocolate Cheesecake. Great for birthdays or any type of celebration!
To help everyone get over the dreaded Wednesday hump day, we have live DJs come and spin for us every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Called, "b.eats," enjoy the free entertainment as you dine on sushi and sake from 6pm till 9pm. The smooth sounds is provided by DJ Ryan Live, DJ Ayebert, and DJ A1. If you don't know who they are, come and find out. Dinner and a show. What more can you ask for on a Wednesday night?
In light of all the customers trying to capture pokemons at the restaurant, here's a little reminder that we do have a very delicious Hawaiian Tuna Poké available. Come on in and catch them all! It features fresh tuna, albacore, avocado, gobo, marinated seaweed, and a delicious poké dressing. It's great to eat at the start, in the middle, or even at the end of a meal with us. It's that good! And yes, you are more than welcome to still come on in and catch all the pokemons that you want in the restaurant. Just remember to eat while you're here.
If Poland wins their Euro game versus Portugal on Thursday, EVERYONE in the restaurant will receive either a free beer or dessert on the house! The game starts at noon so be sure to stop by on Thursday and catch the game with us. Poland is favored so the likelihood of a free beer or dessert is very high. If you like soccer (or football), come on by and watch the game with us. If you're new to sushi, our sushi chefs will gladly walk you through it. And in case you're wondering why we're rooting for Poland, our manager happens to be Polish :-)
That's right. Pops deserves it. He's put up with all your crap all this time. It's time to give him something good. Yes, he would like power tools and some peace and quiet but we all know that's not gonna happen. Bring him on in to Sushi World where we'll give him a choice of our many specialty sushi rolls including our Red Dragon Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, Volcano Roll, Anaheim Chili Tempura Roll, our signature Cypress Roll with strawberries, our sophisticated Manhattan Roll, Snowman Roll, the classic Crunchy Roll, and our unique Yamaha Roll.
It's tough making Pops happy so instead of giving him a free dessert (like we did for Mother's Day), we're giving him a free sushi roll on the house! He may pick one from our awesome selection of sushi rolls. Some of the ones pictured here include the Bentley Roll, Spider Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, our awesome Yummy Roll, White Dragon Roll, Jungle Fever Roll, Caterpillar Roll, and our Three Amigos Roll. We have many more to choose from, of course, so be sure to bring in your dad on Sunday, June 19th and we'll treat him right.

We will also most likely be playing one of our favorite anime movies on our tvs. Right now, we're leaning towards Spirited Away but we are open to suggestions. If you have a favorite anime movie you'd like us to show and you're most definitely coming, please let us know! Come on out, you freaks!
No more BS Sundays (Beer & Sushi). To help celebrate Easter Sunday, we're starting S&M Sundays! That's right. Sushi & Mimosas.
