Even though it's not really Japanese, we've made these bad boys our own here at Sushi World. We use the same spread we use for our California Rolls and slather them in Jalapeno halves that are then battered in tempura and then fried. Yep, they're quite awesome.

By popular demand, Anthony Francisco will be back at Sushi World this Wednesday, December 13th with his live acoustic performance playing a mix of covers and originals with both island and r&b styles. Have some sushi and sake and sit back and let Anthony dazzle you with his smooth sounds. Perfect way to ease the stress. He will be playing from 6pm till 9pm. Come on out and support our local artists.

One of our favorite items to always get while at the sushi bar is Hamachi, or Yellowtail. It's also known as Japanese Amberjack, though we think that name's too long and that's why we don't usually use it. We always try to include a little bit of the bloodline in our Yellowtail so you can always tell it's the real thing. It also makes it tastier. Yellowtail is always on the Sushi World Happy Hour menu for $2.99 for 2 pieces. Also included in the $2.99 Happy Hour sushi is salmon, peppered salmon, albacore, escolar, shrimp, and natto.

An item that's been on our favorites menu for a while now is our KFC! Aptly named, our KFC is tempura fried albacore with a garlic ponzu sauce and it tastes amazing, especially for those who still cannot eat raw fish. Okay, we'll say it. It tastes like chicken. Seriously. Get it and you'll see for yourself. We have a quite a few items on our menu for all levels of sushi so feel free to ask our personable sushi chefs for recommendations based upon your dietary habits. See y'all soon!

Peppered Salmon tastes like salmon that's been peppered. Does that answer your nagging question? Better yet, all you need to know is that it is super yummy and it's only $2.50 for 2 pieces during the best happy hour in all of Orange County! Happy Hour takes place all day on both Mondays and Tuesdays! We're open from 11:30am till 9pm so come early and stay the whole day. We don't mind. Also take advantage of our $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. Yeah, it's easy to lose a whole day here with those prices.

Want to try a different kind of sushi roll? Get our Cheetah Roll! It features a Tempura Philadelphia Roll (Salmon & Cream Cheese) topped with spicy Cheetos! Even though we prefer that you come in and dine with us, we understand that times are busy so we can pack any of our sushi rolls (and pretty much anything else on our menu) to go.

This picture embodies a pretty perfect weekend to us: a big bottle of Kikusui sake and our sushi chef. That means we're going to drink and eat well and that pretty much means happiness all around. Swing on by this weekend to dine-in or take-out! Talk to our sushi chefs to find out what you like best and they'll make sure to accommodate all your requests as best as they can. And of course, getting a big bottle of sake isn't mandatory but it sure helps, especially if you do decide to drink with our chefs. :-)

A new item that we recently added to the Sushi Word Happy Hour menu is Baked Scallop! Cooked in butter and soy sauce, it's available as one of our 8 appetizers for $3.99 during our Happy Hour which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 2pm till 5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We do have the best Happy Hour around and we're always making changes to it so that you can try different items on our menu. We don't want you to get bored of us like you did with your last lover.

Unagi is fresh water eel baked in a sweet sauce so it's fully cooked. This is a great item to get for sushi virgins who are not quite ready for raw fish. You can get Unagi as regular nigiri sushi or even in a bowl for lunch, which we appropriately named, Unagi Bowl. It's also featured in the center of one of our most popular sushi rolls, our Caterpillar Roll. It's funny that we have never posted about this item before because it's such a common item that we forget to highlight it. Okay, on to the next sushi.

At Sushi World, we like to stick to the basics, like this here Red Snapper. It's a staple that most sushi lovers automatically order and never regret because of its delicate, sweet aroma. There's a lot of flack for other sushi restaurants that try to pass off Tilapia as Red Snapper but if you ever order it from us, you'll see that we always see a bit of skin on there so that you can tell from the pink markings that it really is red snapper. Stop on by and order a few today. We'd love to see ya.

We, at Sushi World, are very proud of the Los Angeles Dodgers for becoming the National League champions! Up next is the World Series where we're sure they'll take it all home. We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than with some of our awesome bluefin tuna, which is still on special: Bluefin Tuna sushi for $4 and sashimi for $9; Bluefin Toro is $8 for sushi and $18 for sashimi. This is an incredible offer that we just want to make sure sushi lovers (and especially Dodger fans) get to enjoy. Now, what should we offer when they win it all?

We don't stick our rice in everything. We have awesome dishes that are pretty much no carbs! Pictured is our Salmon Carpaccio and our super duper popular Jalapeno Yellowtail. Both are delicious and super satisfying, especially if you enjoy great quality sushi but don't want all the rice. We know that living in Southern California, we're all a bit carb-conscious so these two items most definitely fits our lifestyle here. Also, these are both great dishes to get on a date. Bonus!

Another common item on the Sushi World specials board is our Truffle Salmon and it's exactly what it sounds like. A delicious piece of buttery salmon lightly brushed with some truffle oil. Can you see how it's glistening in the light? And it tastes like butter, if that helps any more with your visualization. And of course, we recommend you sit at our sushi bar and interact with the awesome Sushi World sushi chefs. We have 8 different sushi items available for $2.99 an order (2 pieces an order!) during our Happy Hour all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 2pm till 5pm Wednesdays through Fridays. Albacore is often overlooked but it's a sushi staple that you should always get once in a while. Our sushi chefs usually brush it with some sauce so you don't even have to dip albacore in your soy sauce & wasabi dip. Just eat it as is. The other 7 items for $2.99 are salmon, peppered salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, escolar, masago, and natto. Also enjoy $3.99 appetizers, and $12 Sapporo pitchers.

At Sushi World, we love to use every part of the fish, especially the collars! There's so much meat on there and it's sooooo buttery, it's ridiculous. Hamachi Kama is Yellowtail Collar and we sear it and serve it with a mixed greens salad and some ponzu sauce. You can get some rice, too, but we love it as is. It's a great item to get but especially so if you have someone in your party who loves eating fish but is not quite ready to eat raw fish. It's a pretty popular item but it's only in limited quantities so be sure to order it the next time you roll through.

It's official. Apparently, there's been a bit too much carb consumption going on lately and the powers that be have designated certain carb-free zones all across Orange County. Luckily for you, our Sashimi Sampler is one of the first legitimately sanctioned Carb-Free Zones designated in the OC. If you feel that you have been over carbing as of late, please make sure you get to Sushi World as quickly as possible to order your Sashimi Sampler today. At Sushi World, we like to stick to the basics some times, like this here Negi Hama. Negi Hama is simply a yellowtail sushi roll with green onions. Very simple. They're bite-sized and also on our Happy Hour menu, which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on Wednesdays through Fridays from 2pm till 5pm. It's only $3.5 per order for 6 pieces and you can also enjoy $2.50 sushi, $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers.

Hawaiian Tacos features our Hawaiian Poke made up of Tuna, Albacore, Seaweed, Avocado, Masago, and Green Onions all on a chip. Goes down well with our Sake Margarita. Just kidding. We don't have a drink like that so don't ask for it.

Come on by for this awesome appetizer, Squid Karaage Kushi! It's a pretty simple item. We have breaded Squid on a stick and then it's fried to crispy perfection. It's like calamari on a stick. But better.

At Sushi World, we do have quite an extensive list of traditional sushi rolls as well as our specialty sushi rolls. But we're not limited to just what's on the menu as the true limit is your imagination. You can always substitute certain ingredients of our sushi rolls to cater to your tastes so feel free request your modifications. Our Bentley Roll sounds fancy because it is! It features a center of spicy tuna and is topped with seared salmon. It also has cucumber and is dressed with a sesame dressing and a sweet sauce. Looks good and tastes great! We're probably the only sushi restaurant who takes the time to break down their sushi rolls in such a way. We're not scared of you stealing our recipes. Go ahead and try to make them yourself. Yeah, it's much harder than it appears. Leave it to the professionals: our sushi chefs. ;-)

Yes, our Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes are on our happy hour menu for $4. It features crispy, fried rice cakes topped with spicy tuna, serrano peppers, and our very own poke sauce. We also have a Smoked Albacore Hand Roll, a California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and our Salmon Skin Roll, all for $4 each on our Happy Hour Menu. That is all in addition to our $2.50 sushi, $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers.
