Great to have during lunch or dinner, our poke bowl will always hit the spot, especially if you don't have the time to sit down for a long spell at our sushi bar. It's got a little bit of everything in it: tuna, albacore, masago, tamago, and a bunch of other goodies that make this bowl absolutely perfect. And of course, it's dressed with our very own Hawaiian Poke dressing and it all sits on a bed of our sushi-grade rice.

Unagi is eel baked in a sweet soy sauce. For some who are still wary of eating raw fish, we have this bowl to fulfill your needs. It's quite simple and consists of generous portions of Unagi, Tamago (Japanese egg cake), vegetables, and of course, rice on the bottom. It's a simple, ideal lunch that will truly fill you up. It's full of flavor and perfect for lunch but you can also have it for dinner. Many who especially enjoy Unagi sushi will absolutely love this bowl. And of course, we have other bowls to enjoy, like our Chirashi Bowl, Poke Bowl, and our Negitoro Bowl.
Chirashi is the best, quick lunch you can possibly have. You get so much fish and it's so filling. And, it's so delicious, too. For $15.95, you get tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi, albacore sashimi, red snapper sashimi, shrimp, tamago, and spicy tuna all in a bowl with some rice. It is a pretty complete meal. And you need to have a good lunch every once in a while. You can also get our awesome chirashi bowl to go. Just order it ahead of time and our expert sushi chefs will gladly put it all together for you. It's like a little work of art in a box. That you can eat.
We hope everyone has a fun-filled and safe 4th of July holiday weekend. If you're driving anywhere, please drive carefully. We know everyone enjoys barbecuing and sushi is not always very popular on the 4th, so we'll be closed on Tuesday for the 4th of July. Our employees could also use the break! But, we are open on Monday and we do have Happy Hour all day where you can take advantage of our $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. Come on in the day before the 4th because we know you're not going to go to work any way ;-).
Hand rolls are for selfish people like you. They're made for one person and you get to hold it and eat it all by yourself. It's kinda weird and awkward to share a hand roll. Our Hand Rolls are made to order and can pretty much consist of anything you can think of. If you can especially get it as a sushi roll, we can make a hand roll version of it. We also can use a soy paper instead of seaweed paper for any hand roll.
Our Yummy Roll actually makes both your tummy and your mouth happy. Here's why are Yummy Roll deserves its name: It's a California Roll that's been suped up on flavor steroids. So we take a basic California Roll (snow crab mix, avocado, cucumber center) and top it with escolar, a lemon slice, a serrano pepper slice, a dab of sriracha, sesame seeds, and then dressed with a soy mustard dressing. Absolutely deserves its name in spades. It is the newest sushi roll added to our extensive sushi roll list and it's quite unique. Swing on by and give it a try on your next visit.
Acquired from sustainable farms, our Bluefin Tuna is always in limited supply so if you see it on our Specials Board, be sure to order it! You can get it sushi, or like in this picture, sashimi-style, which we serve with fresh shredded radish and fresh chopped wasabi. It's always great to get it as a sashimi when you're trying to watch your carb intake. We usually don't dip it in soy sauce. We take a little bit of the fresh chopped wasabi, put it on a slice of Bluefin tuna, and eat it just like that. Simple and quite delicious. Goes great with just about any sake we have in stock.
Well, it's the beginning of another week and it's time for Happy Hour all day Mondays & Tuesdays again! $3.50 appetizers which includes spicy garlic edamame, baked mussels, beef kushiyaki, chicken yakitori, beef tataki, jalapeno poppers, shishito peppers, and chicken gyoza. That's quite a selection! On top of that, we also have $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers! You can't go wrong at Orange County's best happy hour spot. Yeah, we said it. There's no doubt. Oh, and we can make the edamame non-spicy upon request.
One of the most popular sakes out there right now is Kikusui Junmai Ginjo. It's brewed with rice, water, and yeast out of Niigata-ken and is considered a dry sake. It's also called, "Chrysanthemum Water." We have heard from several customers that they notice hints of cantaloupe with a slight banana aroma in this sake Or maybe, you might taste something different? If so, we'd love to hear about it! It goes great with all kinds of sushi so it's a great one to get in general. We always have both a small bottle and a large bottle chilled and ready to serve.
Our Chicken Teriyaki Bento Boxes are only available during lunch and they're awesome! You have the choice of dining in or taking out. Doesn't matter because either way, it's delicious! Each bento box comes with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura, 3 pieces of vegetable tempura, miso soup, and a bowl of rice. Our Bento Box #1 comes with Spicy Tuna Roll or California Roll and it's only $9.95. Our Bento Box #2 comes with 1 sushi piece of each: tuna, albacore, salmon, and shrimp. It costs $11.95. Our 3rd Bento Box comes with 2 sashimi pieces of tuna, albacore, and salmon. It's priced at $14.95.
There's no doubt our sushi bar is always happy during our Happy Hour, which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm. Our chefs love taking care of our customers and it shows. Our customers love it too, especially if they're paying for $2.50 sushi (for 2 pieces, 8 to choose from), $3.50 appetizers (over 10 to choose from), $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. And there are still other items on our HH menu to make you happy. We want you to start ever week off right: happy. What's the point to life if you're not happy?
We can read all father's minds for Father's Day. All they want is sushi, sake, and for everyone to leave them alone. Yeah, that's pretty accurate. Fathers don't want to celebrate anything. They just want to eat, drink, and to be left alone. It's kinda funny that Father's Day lands on the calendar when there's not much sports going on. Yes, there's baseball but there's no football, basketball, or even hockey. It would be awesome if Father's Day was just a little earlier in the year.
Every Monday and Tuesday, you should come into Sushi World just to have a pitcher. It's only $10 all day on both days. Why? Because it's our Happy Hour. And what better way to get happy than with a $10 Sapporo pitcher. After you're all lubricated, you might as well order some $2.50 sushi, $3.50 appetizers, and a bunch of other specials on our HH menu. And yes, there are plenty of items to choose from. And if you need even more alcoholic lubrication, there's always $2.50 sake.
Do you like Spicy Scallops, Tuna, and Albacore? Well, you're in luck. Have we got a sushi roll for you. We call it the Three Amigos Roll because they truly all are friends with one another. We take a spicy scallops sushi roll, top it with avocado, tuna, and albacore, and then dress it with poke sauce and scallions. There's so many complimenting flavors, it's ridiculous. And no, you don't need two other friends to enjoy this roll. Just get it. You won't regret it. And if you'd like a customized sushi roll not on our menu, feel free to suggest it to our sushi chefs.
Yep, we're in June already. How's the beach body coming along? We thought so. Luckily for you, we have some no carb options for ya. Two of our favorite items on the menu are Salmon Carpaccio and Jalapeno Yellowtail. As you can see, both clearly have no rice in them but are definitely full of flavor. Our Salmon Carpaccio consists of salmon sashimi slices and dressed with our own ponzu sauce with sesame seeds, green onions, and red onions.
We did an anime night last year and it was fun. We'd love to do it again! We're just putting it out there but if anyone is interested, we would love to host another one. Come dressed up in your favorite anime outfit and we will reward you with something nice. Best costume of the night will win something even nicer. And if we get enough input, we can play an anime movie or show on the tvs. We will open it up to everyone's suggestions. Sushi, sake, and some anime fun sounds like a pretty awesome night. Let us know what y'all think and we'll put it together.
We can't seem to eat sushi without sake. It's like a habit instilled in us as kids. Um, that doesn't sound right. Oh well. Yes, we love sake. And there are so many varying types now it makes it fun to try them all out. Our top 4 sake are Shirakabe Gura, Kiku-Masamune Taru, Kikusui, and Kurosawa. Have you had the privilege of trying out all of them? You could have, if you had attended one of our sake tastings. In any case, if you would like to find out more about any particular brand, please feel free to ask us or your server when you come on in.
We like to drop a little sushi knowledge every now and then because we feel it's necessary so that you know what you're eating and you get what you want. We have often received questions about the difference between these two and here it is. They are both roes, or the eggs of fish. Masago, is much smaller and it makes sense, because they come from small fish. Ikura is generally Salmon roe, because they are a bigger fish and therefore, produce bigger eggs. Because Masago is much smaller, it's kinda crunchy when you bite into them.
Along with Albacore, we have Yellowtail, Salmon, Peppered Salmon, Masago, Escolar, Natto, and Shrimp on the Happy Hour menu for $2.50 per order (2 pieces!). HH is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm and you can also enjoy $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. We have a number of other items on the Happy Hour menu so you'll have to go over to our Happy Hour section to find out what they all are. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
That's right, ladies and gents. We are giving away a free dessert to all Moms on Mother's Day! Come on in for one of our Prix Fixe meals for mom or just order whatever Mom wishes for Mother's Day. Afterall, she deserves it! After she's through with the meal, she can select to eat her free dessert there or we will gladly pack it to go for her. We might have some other surprises up our sleeves for Mom so be sure to give us a call and make your reservations now while there's still time. We love all Moms!
If you prefer, we can make any sushi roll with a sesame wrapper (or paper) instead of the usual seaweed wrapper. It's really a preference of choice. You might find that you like certain hand rolls with one wrapper over the other. We really don't mind. Just let our sushi chefs know and they'll gladly make the adjustment. In this picture, you'll see our Salmon Skin Hand Roll with the Sesame Wrapper. It's only $4 during our Happy Hour which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm.
You can never go wrong when you order our Jalapeno Yellowtail. It's low in carbs, women love it, it's great on dates, and it's extremely tasty! It all starts with perfectly sliced sashimi pieces laid out on our plate. It's then dressed with a ponzu mixed sauce and a jalapeno sauce blend along the top that has a lot of flavor and is not too spicy. And then we sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top. Yep, it's pretty perfect. Happy Cinco de Mayo to all of our friends out there! Yep, we chose to post about this dish because it had jalapeno in it.
Our customers have a lot of favorites and here is yet, another one. If you haven't tried our Baked Blue Crab Rolls, you're missing out. It's a simple roll but we have a unique way of preparing our blue crab that will blow your mind. You can get it in a hand roll or as a cut roll. It doesn't matter as they're both great! And, it doesn't have any raw fish in it so it's safe for all your friends who are still not willing to eat raw fish. The roll features a garlic aioli and is wrapped in a black sesame seed soy paper. It's delicious!
Beautiful, translucent, sweet shrimp. Yum. Yep, they're in stock and alive for the taking. Absolutely one of our favorite items so we always eat them ourselves when they're in stock. Our chefs masterfully serve up the tails of the amaebi with a just a hint of wasabi and rice, if you'd like. They then deep fry the heads for you so you can just eat those like fries, except these are much better. If you do dip it in soy sauce, make sure you only dip it a bit. Doesn't need much because the shrimp itself is so darn tasty.
Happy Hour all day on Mondays and Tuesdays means that you get to enjoy $2.50 sushi (for 2 pieces!). Sushi choices include Peppered Salmon, Albacore, Salmon, Yellowtail, Masago, Shrimp, Escolar, and Natto. And you also get to take advantage of our other HH deals: $3.50 appetizers (10+ to choose from, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. And don't forget that Happy Hour is on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm, the hours at which most other sushi joints take their afternoon breaks. Yep, we don't need no stinkin' breaks.
Our sushi chefs are always adventurous and trying out new things. There was a time when we offered a Pop Rocks Sushi Roll on our specialty board for a while. We're not sure about how it was received but it was sure fun to make it and serve it for a while. Pop Rocks will always have that nostalgic quality for some of us adults who had to eventually grow up. We'll try to keep you informed about all of our different creations but the only way to truly know what we're experimenting with is if you come on in and take a seat at out sushi bar.
Yeah, we've got these slabs of salmon just lying around, waiting for you to come on in. And you should, especially during Happy Hour, which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm. Why? Because Salmon sushi is only $2.50 during our HH. You get 2 pieces of sushi per order so that comes out to be only $1.25 per sushi. The other sushi available for the same price during HH are albacore, yellowtail, peppered salmon, escolar, masago, nato, and shrimp. And don't forget about our other HH specials: $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers.
That's right. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, DJs invade Sushi World to provide a nice, entertaining evening of Sushi, Sake, and Sounds. From 6pm to 9pm, DJ Ryan Live, DJ A-1, and DJ Ayebert are all in the mix providing you with those feel good tunes. Come out and see what it's all about and get some awesome sushi and sake in the process. You can even get one of our awesome sushi rolls, like the pictured Yummy Roll, which always lives up to its name because it's packed with flavor!
An item that is often neglected on our Happy Hour menu (and in general) is our Salmon Avocado Roll. It's very simple: just a piece of salmon and avocado in the center, wrapped in seaweed, rice, and toasted sesame seeds. Such a simple sushi roll but definitely hits the spot for taste and convenience. Our sushi chefs can whip this little bad boy up quickly so if you're in a rush to eat, try this one out. It's only $4 on our HH menu along with the usual culprits: $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers.
