Now that we're done with our Sake Tasting event (it was awesome, by the way), we just wanted everyone to know that we have Happy Hour on the weekends, too! You don't have to wait till Mondays or Tuesdays. Just come on in from 2pm till 5pm on all other days (including the weekends!) and you get $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. There's really no better deal out there in Orange County and you get to enjoy it on the weekends. It's not like you have anything to do on the weekends anyway. Might as well enjoy it with sushi and sake.
Our Sake Tasting event is this Thursday, March 3rd! We're excited and hope that you are, too! We have 3 awesome killer deals for our Sake Tasting. The first is 12 various sakes for only $25. if 12 different sakes are too much for you, you can always choose our 2 other deals. 6 basic sakes for only $10 or 6 premium sakes for $20. It really depends on your sake expertise as well as how much you can take. All tastes are 1 ounce shots. We encourage everyone to drink responsibly and bring a designated driver if possible. If not, please Uber.
We're still ironing out the details for this event but we do have a date already in mind. Thursday, March 3, 2016, Sushi World will be hosting our first (of hopefully many) Sake Tasting night! We will have over 12 different sakes to taste and to choose from. There will be a specially priced tasters fee for all the different sakes as well as 3 specially priced flights of sakes categorized according to type. If you find a bottle of sake you especially enjoy, you can purchase it for 20% off the regular price that day, too. So mark your calendars!
It's Fish Fridays! It is lent so it is the perfect day to come on in for some fresh sushi! We have all the usual line ups as well as many different specials that change all the time. You have to come in to see what they are. In the meantime, rest assured that we will always have a fresh inventory of the usual suspects, such as the ones pictured. Seared escolar, albacore, salmon, and red snapper. Looks delicious doesn't it? Well, it tastes even better than it looks. Have a great weekend everyone!
We love it when you get Monday off because you also get to come in and enjoy Happy Hour all day on Mondays! It's also all day on Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm, even on the weekends! So you see. It's kinda like a holiday everyday for us. You get to enjoy $3.50 appetizers, like the pictured Baked Mussels, and also $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. Still, the best Happy Hour deal in all of Orange County. You have the day off. Come on in and find out for yourself!
Thought we were in the middle of winter? Why is it in the 80s? Only in Southern California. In any case, we'd like to remind you a little bit about winter with our Snowman Roll. There's nothing cold or wintery about it, though. It's called the Snowman Roll because it's has a snow crab mix in the middle of it. Also has a shrimp tempura in the middle with a soy paper on the outside. It's actually good any time of the year and with any type of sushi eater, especially sushi virgins who still can't eat raw fish. Because there isn't any in this roll.
It's the year of the Fire Monkey! What does that mean? Let's drink! We're open so come on in and celebrate the Lunar New Year with us! It's also Happy Hour all day Mondays and Tuesdays so take advantage of our $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, $3.50 appetizers, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. Our sushi chefs would love to have you come in and celebrate with them. Get them drunk, too! It's the best way to bring in the new year. When everyone is drinking and happy! Remember to drink responsibly!
We love Iichiko and you should, too! Just to clarify, it's not a sake or a soju, as many might mistaken. It's a Japanese shochu, which is traditionally distilled from sweet potato, barley, rice, and other ingredients. Sake is fermented and is typically not as high in alcohol content. So be careful with Iichiko! It will sneak up on you. It's also considered a higher quality than soju, which is much more popular and mass produced. Drink your Iichiko with a little bit of tea, preferably oolong tea or a soda water and some lemon juice.
We haven't posted about this ever and we should. It's one of our favorite appetizers to get no matter what. It's only $3.50 all the time but it's quite popular on our Happy Hour menu, which features over 10 other appetizers that are priced at $3.50. Also on our Happy Hour menu is $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers. It's a great deal all around and it's available all day Mondays & Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm. We don't take afternoon breaks.
What's in our Volcano Roll? It's a spicy tuna roll topped with tempura rock shrimp and dressed with a basil oil. We don't use basil oil very often but we find that it complements the tempura rock shrimp very well. This is definitely not your typical basic sushi roll. It's got some different flavors and textures going that are not found in traditional sushi rolls. Why is it called a Volcano Roll? Because it's erupting with flavors and they all kinda look like a group of volcano islands sushi bites. Yeah, that's the best description for them. Volcano islands sushi bites.
We are nothing without our sushi chefs! They are all hard-working, talented, and eager to please all of our customers. They don't hide behind in the kitchen. They're out, front and center, for all who enter our restaurant. So you get to see who is preparing your food and you can actually see them prepare your food right in front of you. If you come often enough, our sushi chefs will know what you like and will suggest similar items that you might like in the future. That's what happens when you build a rapport with our sushi chefs.
It's always on our Happy Hour menu and it's often overlooked. Our Salmon Skin Salad is a great complement to any meal with us. And during Happy Hour, it's only $3.50. Happy Hour is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm. Our Salmon Skin Salad comes with a nice combination of mixed greens along with strips of crispy salmon skin and then dressed with a ponzu based dressing. It's quite tasty and light, and goes well with fish and rice, if you know what we mean.
We're at the tail end of January so it's time to see how everyone has been doing on their new year's resolutions. It's always a big topic at the beginning of the year and then it fades away and everyone usually drops their resolutions. We want you to be healthier. We want you to eat more fish, obviously. Come on in and we'll help you keep those resolutions of eating more healthy. Ask our awesome sushi chefs to whip up a platter like this one and you'll be all set. Yummy overload and it's good for you!
For some who may need a little help finding us, we've drawn up this handy dandy map for you. It shows that we are near the major intersection of Katella and Knott and also near Target. It's kinda nice to be able to hit up Target whenever you're out of cereal, lotion, or tampons. It's even nicer to be able to grab some sushi anytime you want when you're making a Target run. And unlike most Japanese restaurants, we're open between lunch and dinner. In fact, it's Happy Hour everyday from 2pm till 5pm.
Come on by Sushi World every 3rd Wednesday for the latest edition of b.eats! From 6pm till 9pm, DJ Ryan Live, DJ Ayebert, and DJ A1 will all be in the mix in the restaurant. Don't worry. They won't disrupt your dining experience. They're only there to enhance your dining experience. Dinner and a show all in one. They will be spinning that feel good vibes so if you don't have any plans for the night, come on by and eat some awesome sushi, drink some fine sake, and listen to the sounds of b.eats.
It's Happy Hour all day on Mondays & Tuesdays! Stop on by for a pitcher of Sapporo beer. It's only $10 during Happy Hour, which is also everyday from 2pm till 5pm, even on the weekends. What else is on our awesome Happy Hour menu? $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $3.50 appetizers. Plenty to choose from and plenty to enjoy. And it won't break your bank. For those of you enjoying a day off in honor of MLK, you should most definitely come in and spend the whole day with us.
Yep, we have an Atlantic Dragon Roll but not Pacific Dragon Roll. Seems kinda odd, considering we're right next to the Pacific. Do dragons not exist in the Pacific? Must be so. Anyway, our Atlantic Dragon Roll features a center of salmon, cucumber, and avocado. It's topped with peppered salmon, a slice of serrano pepper, red onions, and then lightly dressed with a ponzu sauce. If you like salmon, this is the roll for you. You get it on the inside and out! Come on in and try out all of our dragon rolls!
We don't hold back when we give you a serving of Ikura. That's how much we love it and that's how much we know you'll love it. For those that don't know, Ikura is salmon roe. It has a very distinct taste, like a nice sharp salty flavor. The best part is when they burst in your mouth as you're eating them. They go well with a lot of other sushi dishes but we often get them as is because they're just as enjoyable on their own. Get a few orders today to see what we're talking about. It'll soon become one of your sushi favorites.
Life is full of decisions. We want to make them as easy as possible for you when you visit us. We always recommend our patrons fill out our sushi forms but if you come enough, our sushi chefs will know what you like and will prepare them accordingly. If the restaurant isn't too busy, you can even yell out your orders to our awesome, professional sushi chefs. So choose wisely and choose fish. Lots of it. You can't go wrong with that. There are plenty other things in your life that you should worry about. Like your New Year's resolutions.
This is more than just a resolution. This should be a part of life. Everyone should eat more fish because it's good for you. Why do you think everyone is crazy for Omega-3s? Why pop the pills when you can get it naturally? Pictured here is a sashimi sampler with expertly sliced pieces of yellowtail, red snapper, tuna, salmon, and albacore. A nice variety of fishes full of essential nutrients and protein that is overall good for you and great for your health. On top of it all, it's delicious! What more can you ask for?
Here we are at the start of another year. Many of us are making resolutions. Many of us intend on keeping them to improve our lives and our way of living. We'd like to help you keep your resolutions as much as possible so feel free to come on in and eat healthier and eat more fish. One of our ongoing resolutions is to always eat with loved ones more. Our lives are so busy nowadays that we forget what is most important: spending quality time with loved ones. So we want to encourage you to come on in and keep 3 of your resolutions on track for as long as possible.
As we come to the end of 2015, we'd like to send out a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped make us what we are today. Every year, we have gotten better and better and we're just so grateful to be able to run a respectable sushi restaurant in Orange County. So cheers to you! We hope you all had a wonderful year as well and hope to see you often in the coming year. We do have some exciting things to share with all of you so stay tuned. For now, enjoy our awesome Hawaiian Tuna Poke.
Here we go again. The best Happy Hour in all of Orange County is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and it's the best way to get every work week started. Why let the good times of the weekends come to an end just because you have to get back to work? Come on in and enjoy $2.50 sushi, $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, $10 Sapporo pitchers, and a bunch of other Happy Hour specials. You can worry about work later. For now, just enjoy our Happy Hour. If you don't make it in at any time on Mondays and Tuesdays, come in on any other day from 2pm till 5pm.
We often neglect how great our Ikura is so we're going to give some special attention to it the next couple of weeks. As we do with everything on our menu, we go out of our way to find the best quality products at the most reasonable prices so that we can pass on to you quality sushi and Japanese cuisine that is delicious and affordable. If you're not already an Ikura fan, you should try it out. It's quite delightful on its own or when it's used to help garnish one of our other plates.
We have a number of awesome appetizers on our Happy Hour menu including the pictured Baked Mussels. We can eat those all day long and they're only $3.50 on our Happy Hour menu which is all day on Mondays & Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm. Also enjoy $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $10 Sapporo pitchers! What makes it the best in Orange County is that is always all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm, even on the weekends! Beat that!
We know all you freaks are going crazy over the latest Star Wars flick. We just want to remind you that you need to eat before or after you catch The Force Awakens. Why not make it sushi? And if so, we hope you have at least the 4th piece of sushi every time, if not more. Depends on what kind of sushi buddies you have. Maybe you shouldn't share food with them if they're going to hog it all up. Maybe you just need new friends. Maybe you should just eat sushi alone. That's what true nerds do.
Every 3rd Wednesday, come on by and enjoy the evening sounds of another session of b.eats from 6pm till 9pm. Get some sushi and some sake and sit back and relax as DJs Ryan Live, Ayebert, and A1 perform a session for Union Radio Station. In case you're wondering what's in the image, that's a Tekka Maki, a classic sushi roll of just tuna, rice, and seaweed. It's a basic roll but sushi sometimes needs to be basic. It doesn't always have to be complicated with too many contrasting tastes. Try it out to start your meal tonight!
It's getting a bit chilly here in Orange County, well, chilly for us Southern California folks. If you need a little soup to help warm you up, get our Shrimp Tempura Udon Soup. It's light, delicious, and will warm you up from the inside out. We don't often post about it, but despite being a sushi restaurant, we also are a Japanese restaurant that offers regular items that non-sushi lovers can enjoy, like this Shrimp Tempura Udon and our Chicken Teriyaki Bento Boxes. Come on in and bring the whole gang. We'll surely have something for everyone.
That's right! Another beautiful work week has started in beautiful Orange County and what better way for you to kick it off than to come on in and take advantage of our Happy Hour, which lasts all day on Mondays & Tuesdays! We named our signature sushi roll after our home, Cypress. We love it here, especially where we are located, which is right next to Anaheim, Garden Grove, and Stanton. Our Cypress Roll features a shrimp tempura center and then slices of strawberries on top. There is no raw fish in it so it's safe for everyone! We love to accommodate everyone's tastebuds and we realize not everyone enjoys eating raw fish. So there's plenty on our menu for non-raw fish eaters. Come on in with a big group! We'll have something on the menu for everyone!
