Sushi World is proud to announce our newest family member: Orion Japanese beer on tap! Yay! So in addition to our Sapporo, we now have Orion, which most definitely has a different taste, more like European beers. Swing on by soon and get a draft or two and you'll see what we mean. When the tap was installed, they also put on a feature that produces very foamy head so feel free to request more head, if that's your preference.
We, at Sushi World, are always trying new things, especially when it comes to improving on some old, traditional favorites. Normally, Tako Wasa is made with raw octopus but we have recently switched it to cooked octopus. This makes a huge difference as raw octopus is very bland and slimy and most importantly, hard to pick up with some chopsticks. So the pictured is the new version, with cooked octopus, pickled wasabi, and wasabi oil. It's a great starter, especially with some beer and/or sake. Of course, the traditional Tako Wasa is still available upon request.
Sushi World's Happy Hour features several rolls like the pictured Spicy Tuna Roll. It goes for $3.99 during our HH which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on Wednesdays through Fridays fro 2pm till 5pm. Also for $3.99 are our Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes, California Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and 8 different appetizers. We also have $2.99 sushi, $12 Sapporo pitchers, and select $4.50 various items which include a Salmon Skin Salad, Salmon Skin Hand Roll, Smoked Albacore Hand Roll, Tekka Maki, Salmon Skin Roll, and Negi Hama.
Jumbo Scallop is usually on the Specials Board at Sushi World and we've featured the sushi version before. Now, we want to show you what our Jumbo Scallop Sashimi looks like because it's one of our favorite items to get. The taste and texture is similar but still very different from fish sashimi. There's a bit of firmness to it and they're usually a bit more wet. We serve it with some salt and that's pretty much all you need to enjoy these little bad boys
Yay! Sushi World got to be a part of OC Weekly's 2018 Eat + Drink Social Edition! If you want to see it for yourself, click here and go to page 36. You'll get to see our Three Amigos Roll, all dolled up. Yeah, because normally, we don't serve any of our dishes with a flower in it. That would be a waste. We're more concerned with giving you great tasting food rather than great looking food, although we do try our best to make our food as presentable as possible. :-)
While Sushi World is all about our sushi, sake, and chefs, we still make sure you have options when it comes time for dessert. Our Green Tea Creme Brulee is definitely a different take on the classic Creme Brulee. It's got that Asian vibe thanks to the green tea. It's a great item to get for yourself or to share and it definitely won't feel heavy. Be sure to check out our extensive dessert menu as we have carefully crafted it to complement our general menu.
We just can't get enough of Bluefin Tuna at Sushi World and we want to share it with you! Our killer Bluefin Tuna prices can't be beat anywhere! Bluefin Tuna sushi is going for $5 and sashimi for $10. Bluefin Toro is $9 for sushi and $19 for sashimi. Toro is the fatty tuna that comes from the belly portion of the fish and it usually runs out quick. This has been on our Specials Board for quite some time and will probably go on for a while longer. Be sure to swing by and take advantage of it soon before we realize this is way too good of a deal to be offering.
Sushi World's Happy Hour, the best in all of Orange County, features an array of appetizers all for only $3.99 each, which includes the pictured Shishito Peppers topped with Bonito Flakes. Now, if you haven't had it, you must! It's not spicy or hot, as you might think. It's just a pepper that tastes great! And, it's only $3.99 during our Happy Hour, which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other weekdays from 2pm till 5pm. Also enjoy $2.99 sushi, and $12 Sapporo pitchers.
Yay! It's finally raining again in Orange County! While we can't expect to get any snow anytime soon, we figured getting a Snowman Roll is just as good. The center consists of shrimp tempura, snow crab mix, avocado, and cucumber and then it's all wrapped up in a delicious soy paper with black sesame seeds on it. And to finish it off, we lightly dress it with a sweet sauce. Why did we name it the Snowman Roll? If you use your imagination, it's a Snowman cut up into delicious pieces that you can eat. Some assembly required.
