We have Orion Japanese beer on tap! Yay! So in addition to our Sapporo, we now have Orion, which most definitely has a different taste, more like European beers. Swing on by soon and get a draft or two and you'll see what we mean. When the tap was installed, they also put on a feature that produces very foamy head so feel free to request more head, if that's your preference. Of course, it goes great with just about everything we serve.
We, at Sushi World, are always trying new things, especially when it comes to improving on some old, traditional favorites. Normally, Tako Wasa is made with raw octopus but we have recently switched it to cooked octopus. This makes a huge difference as raw octopus is very bland and slimy and most importantly, hard to pick up with some chopsticks. So the pictured is the new version, with cooked octopus, pickled wasabi, and wasabi oil. It's a great starter, especially with some beer and/or sake. Of course, the traditional Tako Wasa is still available upon request.
Yay! Sushi World got to be a part of OC Weekly's 2018 Eat + Drink Social Edition! If you want to see it for yourself, click here and go to page 36. You'll get to see our Three Amigos Roll, all dolled up. Yeah, because normally, we don't serve any of our dishes with a flower in it. That would be a waste. We're more concerned with giving you great tasting food rather than great looking food, although we do try our best to make our food as presentable as possible. :-)
Swing on by Sushi World for St. Patrick's Day! Yes, we know we're not your first choice but that's not going to stop us from trying! We have plenty of green items to choose from, like our Shishito Peppers, Salmon Skin Salad, Seaweed Salad, Jalapeno Yellowtail, Cucumber Sunomono Salad, Caterpillar Roll, Spicy Garlic Edamame, Albacore Carpaccio, and Tako Wasa. And we don't have green beer but we have plenty of green bottled sakes, like our Kiku-Masamune Junmai Taru Sake. Cheers!
While Sushi World is all about our sushi, sake, and chefs, we still make sure you have options when it comes time for dessert. Our Green Tea Creme Brulee is definitely a different take on the classic Creme Brulee. It's got that Asian vibe thanks to the green tea. It's a great item to get for yourself or to share and it definitely won't feel heavy. Be sure to check out our extensive dessert menu as we have carefully crafted it to complement our general menu.
If you're in the mood for Oyster Shooters, swing on by! Our sushi chefs love to serve them up to you. Sometimes, they'll use shot glasses. Other times, they'll use a wine glass. We take a freshly shucked oyster, throw it in a glass with ponzu, masago, sake, green onions, and a few other secret ingredients. And if you'd like, you can always squeeze some more lemon juice and/or add some tabasco to kick it up another level of heat and flavor.
