We love Iichiko and you should, too! Just to clarify, it's not a sake or a soju, as many might mistaken. It's a Japanese shochu, which is traditionally distilled from sweet potato, barley, rice, and other ingredients. Sake is fermented and is typically not as high in alcohol content. So be careful with Iichiko! It will sneak up on you. It's also considered a higher quality than soju, which is much more popular and mass produced. Drink your Iichiko with a little bit of tea, preferably oolong tea or a soda water and some lemon juice. It's great to sip on all night long while chatting it up with our sushi chefs.
